More than anything, Taylor May’s photography is visible testimony to the claim that this moment matters.

  • Taylor May really made everything so easy. I felt able to let go of the photos and the photo-taking process because she was so reassuring and chill. I didn't even notice her during the ceremony. She was in full stealth mode but still took incredible photos. The guests all commented on how gorgeous the photos were and how much they enjoyed Taylor May. (Really, folks are agog with delight).

She truly understood the essence of the moment, putting everyone at ease while capturing it beautifully. She took the time to hear my ideas and then elevated them with her skill. I couldn’t be happier with my photos. A five-star experience all the way!

Taylor May’s work invites viewers to pause and reflect on too often under-appreciated facets of human life—that is, moments. Moments of candor, of joy; of splendor, of fear; moments of uncertainty—moments of poise. Taylor May’s photography brings forth a world you will long to revisit, of a kind that is not easily stamped on a Christmas card and put away. Her photography lingers—it lays in wait; it does not document poses and it does not glamorize falsity—it captures what is most real, what is most alive and most true, holding fast to a conviction that is perhaps more fundamental than any other though we are so prone to forget it: this moment matters.

A note from Taylor May …

My love + me at our wedding.

I love taking pics. It is my work.

& I think I bring a bit of duality to my work: part meticulous observer, part playful artist. My background in neuroscience and technology sharpened my eye for detail and precision, but my love for storytelling pulls me toward the unpolished, the spontaneous, the in-between. I thrive in the balance—between structured and free-flowing, between classic and unexpected.

I live in Knoxville, TN, with my spouse and our wonderful dogs. I photograph locally but I’m always up for an adventure.
